Ideation session, kind of a brain dump of our ideas

Ideas goes here

  • A time travel of clips from past, to present, and then future

  • Visualizations of the future

  • Old sculptures remade, imagine Plato With Beyonces head

  • Poll to show that all of us are somehow affected by the structures in society.

  • Showing a cell as a representation of society, maybe showing a cell that is transforming, it can go from being a cell to a face.

  • Famous quotes that used to represent the old status quo which are later supplanted by other quotes representing new paradigms.

  • Fabricated memories and realities. Reinventing yourself depending on the context - create something that changes the context/environment. Like how people always say that when you enter a new school or job or group you have the chance to be whoever you want to be. Being in control of your own narrative = power and identity

  • Idea for interaction for a b or c product: QR codes that show something - like in real museums when you scan them and it takes you on a further, deeper journey about that piece

  • Internet aesthetics - a google search that shows something else, a zoom call that looks different. What does the future look like with our current internet aesthetics?

  • How history is manipulated, like using B&W pictures for events that have pictures in full color to make it seem as though it’s been ages, or making ppl think as tho things happened a long time ago - the not owning/holding yourself accountable of things that did very much happen - shift in narrative power.

  • Power is also the ability to garner respect and the freedom to bend the world to one’s will. So...what symbols of power are famous throughout history? The man standing before a tank in Tiananmen Square, the Black Power salute, the picture of a crowd standing before Hitler where one man is crossing his arms and not doing the salute like everyone else, etc. So maybe we can show through powerful images how defiance of the powers-that-be represent the greater and more lasting form of power…

  • Showing traditionally oppressed groups, i.e. trans people, women, BIPOC, etc. in powerful or symbolically powerful situations. Change the narrative, using maybe collage and animation in tandem.

  • Power of languages and body language, like we can all agree (ish) in the traffic because we use the same language when driving. Can we use that kind of language in other ways and places?

  • The power of the ego and recognition/relating - can we show things that people can relate to to make a change? Can we create like a game or something like that (i’ll explain more in zoom hehe)

  • WHO HAS POWER? We could show the complexity of power by framing it as something that some groups have, other groups don't, but at the same time, something that we all have. In old paintings there used to be symbols of power in the surroundings of the portrait, we could do a collection of portraits of a diverse group of people and fill them with the symbols of power of today.

  • SYMBOLS OF POWER - what are todays symbols of power? We could do a collection of objects that we feel represents power today, it could be a lamp, it could be a phone, it could be a pair of sunglasses, it could be a book.

  • To make a video where we reflect on power and its meaning. By doing a video that reflects on the idea of power gives us a change to cover multiple different ways of power. Power in money, power in relationships, power in identity, power in future/past.

  • YOU have the power! Show how you can get power by doing the little things as helping someone or maybe just say Hi to anyone.

  • Make a film that shows an alternative future where the usual power “money” has been shared by all and the leaders in power is someone that never would have had that today.

  • Power of majority

Opinion facts or fiction Do we want to show something or tell something? Do we want to make people act or think? What could we do that actually makes a difference? History, today and future. Can something powerful suddenly be not so powerful? Is the idea of power something that we made up, what is power when we are all humans that should work together for a better world. Power in individual or collective What is power with a crumbling earth? Power in money, power in relationships, power in identity, power in future/past. “ I give you my privilege, how can we use it to do better? “
