Meeting at 9:30

We talk about Corona + Carola

CP team says things don’t need to be completely finished Tuesday midnight but it’s good to have a solid ground

Today we’ll be deciding who wants to do what

Which virtual space do we want to use?

Are we using

What is everyone interested in exploring?

Who will be attending the workshop today?

Stefano - is it possible to add Hubs to Wordpress? is it possible to have a space within a space in hubs?

Good if everyone documents their process whenever they’re trying things in softwares - both for the team and for our assessment

What is our angle?

Pierre did research for the article and tracked down the number for the person who sort of decides

How do we feel about starting a movement to raise a statue?

What is our nisch?

Why are we talking about statues now?

Zlatan statue in Sweden and its relation to racism? Is there any?

Robin - the vision with the news: animating a room where there’s a tv and maybe a room, in the tv there’s a news segment showing the news being sent from a future time when they’re showing a statue of a minority being put up, same with a news about the new PM, same with the weather, a news about everyone having internet and thus having a voice and the power dynamics shifting,

Lena: add the voting by phone in the future.

Robin: the commercial can be about electric everything, or about billionaires finally opening their purse to save the planet

What is the purpose with the news segment? What is the red thread?

Another way would be to just have the news send a segment about statues only

Written piece - about statues and what they represent and why they should be questioned

Pierre - all of the above + a call for action + using the garden of hope as an example of statues that can be put up instead

Garden of hope: a virtual space with examples of what a future can look like

Deadlines for today

Divide ourselves into teams of 2

Lena and Camila - creating the virtual space

Pierre and Indra - written piece

Robin and Betty - audiovisual piece

Summary of the idea

[Insert title here]

3 pieces, one written, one visual, one audiovisual

Written piece: an exploration of statues and its meaning, the power that they hold and what they represent + what they do to a public space, a call for action, an explanation on what the red thread is in our exhibition, and more

Visual piece: a garden of statues consisting of minorities, an example of statues that could be erected through a call for action. are we doing regular people, or are we doing famous people we feel should be looked up to? are we doing only swedish people, or people around the world?

Audiovisual piece: a news segment that talks about statues as well. how, though? is a new statue being erected? is it taking place in the future? is it talking about how the tearing down of statues began in 2020 and showing what happened later/what it lead to aka people questioning the existing statues and demanding new be put up instead? are there other things being shown as well that also empower minorities and shift power dynamics (a WOC as a PM, etc)?

After lunch:

Audiovisual idea - timeline on Miro board https://miro.com/app/board/o9J_kgu8f3A=/ - idea about having the news be the first thing you see and it ending with announcing the news statues being put up and then you enter the room. It would also mean we don’t need another element in our room, so it wouldn’t be too heavy

Camila explored hubs and a-frame

Lena explored the possibility of blender and putting a face onto a statue but it’s kinda distorted so far

Robin thinks we should let visitors vote for one statue that they want

Betty remembers Stefano mentioning that you can leave comments in hubs

Indra will join Lena and Camila on the 3D modeling

Some people will attend the lecture at 14 and we will all try to come up with suggestions of people who could be rendered / 3d modeled and put them on a thread on slack. Robin and Betty will be looking for footage today.
